IBM sold his laptop business to an investor from China and now laptops of this kind are known as Lenovo. So, the brand of IBM has now become equal to Lenovo. Since the new company is in authority, not so successful laptop models are being offered to the market. There even have been complaints about Lenovo company. Still, it is not so extraordinary, as other companies keep receiving various complaints for different products as well. This site is not concerned with advertising or selling products, only independent opinion about personal computers and laptops is given here. It is what, we think, we do best and what we would like to share with other people.

Coming back to IBM or Lenovo (IBM), it could be claimed that almost everybody is satisfied with laptops from this company. Those products might be considered to be expensive, but the quality is worth it. As IBM has always been a leader in the field of improvement, some specific functions are available only on IBM laptops. We know that some people even said about IBM model T20 having the best available laptop keyboard some time ago. It is known, that some people even have said IBM model T20 to have the best laptop keyboard available. We support this sort of opinion, because we repair and test IBM models: T20, T21 and T22 and we are well acquainted with these types of laptops from the inside. Today Lenovo continues producing this product line. Now they have new models in T-line. The keyboard in T-line laptops is almost as good as it was in T20.
Lenovo now is also continuing with X-line. There are X30, X31, X60 and X61 types of laptops produced already. Despite that almost all IBM laptops have a black surface; IBM has recently started making a new line of laptops with surfaces of various colours.

Basic IBM laptop construction is based on a few main components. There is no such component as separate chassis. All components, such as motherboard, covers, keyboard, DVD drive are here, but there is any detached chassis. This is the reason, why these laptops are very thin and light. Screens of IBM laptops are of a high-class. In early T-models Samsung LCD screens also were used. They had a very good quality. In early models some parts of keyboard were touching LCD screen and if the laptop got squeezed keyboard keys pushed the LCD and made pressure marks. This was almost the only one disadvantage of IBM laptops. There is also another part, which sometimes fails. It is a rubber cable, connecting LCD with motherboard. Sometimes, the connector becomes loose or the cable can break. So, these are the main possible defects of IBM laptops.
