How to upgrade laptop memory
Upgrading laptop memory can be pretty easy. Normally, you will have to use the screwdriver, and a new memory module, of course. There are a few different types of laptop memory. SDRAM is the first one. It is the older memory type and usually is in older laptops, such as Pentium II. DDR1 memory is different from previous one. There also is DDR2, which is current nowadays. It is different from DDR1. It is not very convenient, but, still, it is used. At the moment DDR3 is also circulating on the market. It is different from DDR2. So, all those DDR types are not interchangeable. To identify which memory type is on your laptop, you should use software SIW. It will show the memory’s type and size.

How to upgrade PC memory
To upgrade PC desktop computer memory, firstly, similarly as with the laptop, we have to identify which memory type it has. PC memory modules usually are bigger than laptop memory modules. But the type of all of them (SDRAM, DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3) is the same. Usually, if the memory is DDR, we will find it written in the markings. Here we can use SIW software to identify memory type, as well as with a laptop computer. After we find out the memory type, we should buy it. A good place to buy computer parts is eBay. We also can check various online retailers, such as buy.com or tigerdirect.com. There are always fewer problems when buying from big online retailers, because retailers on eBay do not provide enough support.
