If somebody ask you to name a few laptop companies I am sure on that list will be no name such as Toshiba. It is interesting because so far Toshiba making very good laptop computers. But just the name is not recognizable as a synonym of laptop brand.
I been asked once by friend of mine about laptops. In his words it would be which laptop is the best. And I did mentioned then HP, Acer, Dell, Lenovo but forgot Toshiba.
In my opinion Toshiba has something to do with that but about quality they achieved is 9 points from 10.
Toshiba makes vide range of laptops starting from very small netbooks to gaming laptops as
Qosmio models.
Toshiba Portege models
The Toshiba Portege is ultra-light laptops from Toshiba. It is good for work and business but I wouldn’t buy it for enjoinment. It is laptop for business.

Portege laptops do not compromise processor and system performance as they small brothers netbooks. Toshiba Portege laptops are almost the same performance laptops but squeezed in incredibly small space.
Toshiba laptop Qosmio models
Toshiba introduced new laptop Qosmio line when Toshiba bought laptop manufacturing company Qosmio in USA. Qosmio focused on multimedia laptops and with acquiring by Toshiba this laptop model line started focusing on gaming laptops.

Toshiba Qosmio means best possible laptop performance with games and best possible equipment with laptop having bigger RAM, better video cards, faster hard disks, better displays and of course the price tag is higher. But this is the price for quality.  
Toshiba Satellite models
Toshiba Satellite laptops are a mix of features and sizes. for example Satellite T110 is netbook size laptop with screen just 11.6 inch. The battery life is like in other netbooks almost 9 hours.
Satellite L550/L550D. I had the Toshiba L550 laptop with 17 inch size screen. The laptop was just amazing dealing with Vista like it would be XP.

There are satellites with 16 inch screens what is ok to do work at home or to bring it occasionally to office.
Toshiba Tecra
This is laptop like one I am typing this article with. Tecra line has screens 14.1 and 15.4 inch sizes. I can confirm that the build quality is very good. There was one laptop I need to disassemble and everything I saw inside gives the respect to Toshiba's engineers. Only one drawback of Tecra laptops is not very convenient keyboard. But it can be because for two years I used Lenovo laptops.

I would say that on Tecras I enjoy working the keyboard is not too small and not too big. It is surprising that I feel enjoinment typing this article on Tecra laptop. So it is great laptop to do office work what means it is for business.
Toshiba Satellite Pro
It seems almost no difference between two Toshiba laptop models Satellite and Satellite Pro. In Satellite Pro we will find screens from 13.3 inch to 17 inch.

Full size ergonomic keyboard. Of cource there will be more memory, bigger hard drives and dedicated graphic card. I think this model is almost Qosmio and will not surprise if they will merge in one product line.
Mini Notebooks or Netbooks
There are great demand for small laptop computers which you can carry with one hand. Toshiba also making small laptops called Toshiba Mini. Toshiba claims that they making Mini's with full size keyboards.
