Firstly, we need to clarify that Acer laptops are considered to be budged machines. Acer keeps improving manufacturing and design quality, so Acer must be noticed by those who are interested in technology or laptop computers. Despite that there can be found something, that may cause a glitch in the system during the exploitation, in some models. It not necessarily involves the built quality, it is more likely to be something, concerning design or engineering practice.
Acer was too hasty to put short living batteries in its former models. For example, business laptop, model Travel Mate 4060 had Intel Centrino processor, Intel chipset and ridiculously only one hour lasting battery’s life span. Some people did not mind that, because, overall, laptop performance was good.

Another example is Acer Aspire 6935. The hard disk was placed in to the protective bag and connected to the motherboard in this laptop. The reason, why it was done so, remains mysterious for us. The temperature inside this hard disk used to reach 59 degrees Celsius. In our opinion, this kind of temperature is too high for a hard disk to operate properly. When we got this laptop to repair for the first time, it did not show such high temperature. The second time we took the hard disk out from the protective bag, the temperature was too high. We think that the hard disk controller might have been working very hard to correct the errors having occurred before, during the data reading from the actual disk surface. It was not hot when it was on idle, but started getting hotter when it had to read or write the data to the disk.
Here is how the hard disk looks placed in a protective bag:

Here is a picture of laptop Aspire.

We can see the hard disk, memory modules, radiators of processor and the video processor. This laptop definitely has a separate video card, which is attached to the motherboard through an interface. The video card is on the right side and it is bigger. The processor is on the left side of the video card and it looks smaller.

Generally, Acer laptops do not have overheating problems, related to dusty radiators and heat sinks.
