This is easier compared to the method with MHDD. First of all, you need to download the program from here. Second, it needs to be burned to a CD drive. This is a hard drive test program designed by Hitachi for Hitachi hard drives. But, it also works with other manufacturer’s drives, and so we use it for Maxtor and Samsung. After you boot the computer from a CD disk, you will see following screens.

 

On the first screen, please choose the first option.

On the second screen also, the first choice will be chosen. You don't need to do anything just press “Enter”.

You will see a new screen that’s named the “License Agreement”.

Hit the letter “A”. It will list all available hard drives.

Press “Yes” if it is correct.
On the next screen, available operations will be listed.

Choose the “Advanced test”.

Press the letter “S” to start.

It will start to test the hard drive.
If there is a problem with hard drive, it will display a message like this
